I have been reading this site for the last few weeks. I am purposely ignoring the cheap shots taken and will only note the good memories that have been jogged. The whip and ferris wheel on the back of the truck, slang books (if you got caught with one in school, it was taken away, never to be seen again), Sonny playing Santa (Joe Kelly did the same thing in later years. Both nice guys), cherry cokes at Beatos. Your mother sent you to buy coke syrup if you had an upset stomach, swimming at the aquarium on summer afternoons (I think it was a .25 to get in), getting wet under the fire plug, playing ring up (and never getting tired), sledding on Suicide Hill (which is being torn apart while they are building parking for the Art Museum. Will they put it all back for future sledding??) There are plenty of good memories to go around.

Is anyone going to the Mazzi Ward benefit on nov. 3rd st Keenan's in Roxborough? I heard there were so many people there last year that they needed to find a larger place to accomodate thelarge crowd of oldtime fairmounter. I hope to see familiar faces there.

How about naming the 5 nicest people you have come across in Fairmount. The first person who comes to mind is Theresa (Sweeney) Pettit. By far the kindest and most generous person I know.

Again, there are far more good people in Fairmount than bad. Think positive guys, not negative.
